Billy trained as a Camera Assistant at Samuelsons, before becoming a Focus Puller and has worked on many features, including Krull, Absolute Beginners, Siesta, The Assam Garden, Highlander, Haunted Honeymoon, The Dresser and Supergirl.

Since becoming a Lighting Cameraman he has shot hundreds of commercials, including work for Rover Cars, Nissan, Yardley, Findus, Esso, Maxwell House, Absolut Vodka and award winners for W.H. Smiths, Radio Rentals and Boots The Chemist. He also shot several high profile promos for The Cure, with director Tim Pope, and Prodigy for Walter Stern.

Billy was Director of Photography on a low-budget feature, Dinner In Purgatory for Stefan Linn and Kerry Kiernan, and shot pick-ups on Interview Day for Director Piers Haggard and Greenpoint Films and worked with Director Jonathan Karlsen on the short film Clueless. He also handled second unit on The Canterville Ghost, Starring Patrick Stewart, for Director Syd Macartney, and Fairytale - A True Story, Starring Peter O’Toole, Paul McGann and Harvey Keitel for Director Charles Sturridge
